4.1 Registration & Requirements

Registration vs Stake

  • Registration burns TAO to obtain a UID. Separate from staking.
  • Staking adds TAO to the neuron's hotkey to influence Yuma weight.
  • A miner can register with minimal burn and add stake separately.

Immunity Period

New miners receive a default immunity_period of 5,000 blocks (~16.7 hours). During this window they cannot be deregistered regardless of stake.

Deregistration

Miners must maintain ≥1 TAO active stake after immunity expires. Below this threshold, miners become candidates for deregistration under Yuma pruning when all UID slots are full.
