4.1 Registration & Requirements
Registration vs Stake
- Registration burns TAO to obtain a UID. Separate from staking.
- Staking adds TAO to the neuron's hotkey to influence Yuma weight.
- A miner can register with minimal burn and add stake separately.
Hardware Requirements
| Requirement | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| TAO stake (active) | 1 TAO | 10 TAO |
| CPU | 4 cores | 8 cores |
| RAM | 16 GB | 32 GB |
| Network | 100 Mbps | 1 Gbps |
| Uptime target | 90% | 99% |
Immunity Period
New miners receive a default immunity_period of 5,000 blocks (~16.7 hours). During this window they cannot be deregistered regardless of stake.
Deregistration
Miners must maintain ≥1 TAO active stake after immunity expires. Below this threshold, miners become candidates for deregistration under Yuma pruning when all UID slots are full.
